If you need to send from a shared mailbox or another address, Outlook has to show the From field on your message. If you do not see it, turn it on from the message options.
Choose the version of Outlook you are using.
Show From in new Outlook
- Select New mail.
- In the message window, open Options.

Show From in classic Outlook
- Select New Email.
- In the message window, open the Options tab.
- Select From.
- Select From in the message header and choose the address you want to send from.
If you do not see the shared mailbox address, choose another email address and enter it manually.
Show From in Outlook on the web
- Select New mail.
- In the message window, open Options.
- Select Show From.
- Select From and choose the address you want to send from.
If the address is missing, make sure you have permission to the shared mailbox and try typing the address manually.
Once the From field is visible, Outlook should keep it available when you compose future messages. Before sending, always check that the correct address is selected.
